Getting To The Whitsundays

The Whitsunday Islands and Airlie Beach are located in North-eastern Australia, in Queensland’s Central Coast approximately 1130km north of Brisbane and 630km south of Cairns.

The Whitsunday Islands comprise of 74 magnificent, pristine islands and the adject coast centred around the bustling picture-postcard town of Airlie Beach.

Getting to the Whitsundays?

By Road: With the Bruce Highway linking Queensland’s major coastal towns and cities, access to the Whitsundays is always easy by road, whether travelling in your own private vehicle, a car rental, a motor home or a campervan. Major coach operators, including Premier Motor Services and Greyhound Bus Services include Airlie Beach in their regular services. Coaches from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne operate numerous times daily.

By Air: Access to Airlie Beach has never been easier and more affordable with two domestic airports operating within close proximity of Airlie Beach.

Whitsunday Coast Airport (PPP) is approximately a 30-minute drive to Airlie Beach and is serviced by Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Alliance Airways, offering regular flights from Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne.

The Hamilton Island Airport (HTI) located on Hamilton Island is serviced by Qantas Link, Jetstar and Virgin Australia with regular flights from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Ferry and air transfers connecting to Airlie Beach operate daily.

By rail: Services operate regularly between Cairns and coastal centres including
